Something Truly Inspiring About Our Consciousness!

I have been reading, listening and learning new thought via the teachings of Eckhart Tolle and Unity Church for the last four years. It is wonderfully refreshing to see the adoption of these beliefs spread as I study them through public figures like Oprah and her "world classroom" with Eckhart Tolle covering A New Earth and the following encounter of a neuroscientist "living in the present" while experiencing a stroke:

Truly Amazing!

IF You Love Dogs....

Please read the Miami Herald Article by Dr. Dolittler from last Friday: http://www.miamiherald.com/163/story/454536.html

Fort Lauderdale already has an anti-tether ordinance. If you want to sign the Miami Dade petition, send an e-mail to Protect Children & Dogs in Miami-Dade at pcmiamidade@bellsouth.net or call 305-282-3527.

The Miami International Film Festival

More to come about the festival movies later, but first a little summary:

Spring Break at South Beach

When South Beach is suddenly populated by young twenty-something year olds, then you know its spring. Spring Break takes over the beach and all parking possibilities from March to May here. The kids are cute, but the noise and confusion can get a bit out of hand.

Oddly enough, the college goers don’t annoy me as much as what comes with them. I just stepped out to my balcony for some fresh air and sunshine to see chaos break. Three tow trucks came blazoning down the street with no regard to pedestrians or inexperienced drivers to tow cars from an empty lot.

Now, I know that it is better to have people who break into cars have a steady income. Also, the job does take an aggressive personality. However, there are young adults with little on their minds but having fun here!!

My thoughts are to contact the towing company, but they are raking in the cash. Major cash only penalties for illegal parking for over a hundred dollars each day a car is kept. It is bad enough hearing these young adults cry when daddy’s car was towed. I just don’t want any of them to get hurt!

Great NYC Moments...

My on-line friend Michelle Oshen sent this to me to make me smile:

I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens; although my adult life has been entirely in FL, these are the moments that remind me that NY is home!

Chocolates in Bed!

There's nothing like waking up to delicious Godiva chocolates!

My friend Julie Gates gave her press appointments and clients boxes of Godiva chocolates when they would visit her hospitality suite during FETC. I got one just for being a good friend. Whoo Hoo!!

Florida Educational Technology Conference

I am attending the Florida Educational Technology Conference in Orlando, FL this week. There are about 450 exhibitors scheduled in the local mega-convention center. So, I will be reviewing what's hot and what's not for the 21st Century Classroom...

Tonight, I will attend a DOLS (Dirty Old Ladies of Software) dinner at the Rosen Centre featuring 100 of the top women in educational technology. It is a great networking event held in the major national conferences, but we also have fun!
